Mandala Method ™ – An Embodied Yoga & Ritual Movement Practice | Chakra Based | Circular

Mandala Method is an embodied yoga and movement practice developed by Sonal Paladini through years of self-practice, teaching, retreats, and festival spaces across Europe and India.

Mandala Method by Sonal Paladini

Unlike linear vinyasa styles, this method moves in circles, spirals, and waves, guiding the body side-to-side rather than front-to-back. The practice is rooted in chakra awareness, subtle mantra or sound, and a central returning posture—most often Malasana—creating a sense of safety, rhythm, and inner coherence.

The intention of Mandala Method is not performance, flexibility, or achievement, but embodied presence. Participants are invited to feel, listen, and move from within, allowing movement to arise organically rather than be imposed from the outside.

Bridging yoga, somatic movement, and ritual space, Mandala Method supports nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and a deep sense of self-connection. It offers a full body–mind–soul experience, inviting movement to become a language, awareness to become guidance, and the body to be recognized as an intelligent, living system.

Mandala Method Format & Process

Each session unfolds in gentle, progressive phases:

  • Arrival & Grounding
  • Breath, awareness, and simple movements to settle the nervous system and arrive fully in the body.
  • Circular & Wave-Based Movement
  • Slow, fluid movements within asanas, guided by somatic intelligence rather than fixed form.
  • Spiral Flow with Chakra Awareness & Sound
  • A spiral, ladder-style flow where each round builds upon the previous one. Each sequence pauses in a held posture connected to a specific chakra, accompanied by mantra, subtle sound, or internal focus. The practice progresses from the lower chakras toward the upper chakras, building from base to crown.
  • Malasana as the Central Returning Point. Rather than downward-facing dog, Malasana serves as the connective posture between rounds. This deeply human position reconnects us to a natural way of resting and transitioning that many bodies have forgotten through chair-based living.
  • Free Integration Phase
  • Space for intuitive movement, stillness, or rest, honoring each participant’s inner rhythm and experience.
  • Closing & Integration
  • A short period of rest and reflection to anchor the practice.

Interaction is created through shared rhythm and collective presence, rather than excessive verbal instruction or performance.
